Antonov An-12 is a four-turboprop engined mid-sized aircraft with maximum payload of 20,0 tonnes and maximum range 5000km.
An-12 is originally designed as a military transporter so can be used at remote cargo aprons within barbed wired military facilities and operate from concrete and unpaved runways, including grass landing strips. An-12 easily switched roles to provide reliable commercial air transport into some of the most difficult regions in the world. An-12 was very similar in appearance to the Hercules but a little less capable and has unpressurized cargo hold. This aircraft is fully European airspace compliant with both EGPWS and TCAS systems has stage III noise level. Fuselage is upswept and has large rear-loading doors, for on-ground loading and unloading detachable ramp can be used.
